Lonsdor K518 VAG MQB49 5C 5D Function FAQs

Lonsdor K518 Pro series update BMW G/U chassis BDC2/BDC3/BCP/LCD and VAG MQB49 5C 5D add key function in Feb, 2026.

 

Does it require license activation? Do I need a token? What key to use?  How to unlock SFD?

Here is the clue.

 

1. License Activation

For K518 Pro Full version active annual subscription users, skip license activation.  If the device is within the annual subscription period, you don’t need to activate license separately.

If license expired, renew annual license to unlock these functions.

For K518 Pro FCV users, users need to activate BMW BDC2 BDC3 BCP LCD license and VAG MQB49 5C 5D license separately.

For both K518 Pro FCV and K518 Pro full, credits are required to read original BDC2 encrypted key data and generate MQB49 5C/5D dealer key.
Earn back 10% credits per use (1 free per 10 uses).

If the function has a red credit icon, indicating that this function requires credits to use.

Lonsdor also supports unlocking SFD security gateway for 2023+ VAG models. But users need to obtain unlock code from 3rd party.

 

What key to use?

Better original BDC2/BDC3/MQB49 5C 5D keys.

 

Must use Lonsdor solder free adapters for BDC2 BDC3 5C 5D? Can I use 3rd party clip adapters?

Must use Lonsdor ADP40 and BMW and 5C 5D adapters to use this function. 3rd party clip adapters are not compatible with Lonsdor devices.
